Thanks for the suggestions, David. I got to this point and decided that I like it so much that I didn't want to take a chance on going further and ruining it. I'm not really looking for realism of the figure as much as realism of the mood.

Sandy, I like this painting. Have you thought about putting some shadows on the face? There could be a light shadow under the hair on her forehead and around her cheeks, again under the hair. There could be some shadowing around the eyes and on the neck. You might want to make a copy of this painting and experiment with the copy before you actually paint it. It might make the painting look a bit more realistic.
