This portrait was painted from a sepia photo of Guy Mitchell and his father, Roy, sitting on the rear bumper of a car. I am guessing this photo was taken before WWII, possibly a photo taken before Guy's departure to fight because it was taken by a professional photographer.. The Mitchells lived in Georgia, and Guy became a decorated war veteran who continued in the service ending up in California.
