Description
This painting portrays a little fantasy of my cat sitting by a mirror. As for painting the reflection, I have painted it in cool, pastel colors to suggest the fantasy that we all experience in mirrors. Do we see ourselves in the mirror as we are or as we would like to be? (Research suggests that when we look at our figure in a mirror, we see how we think we look. This research was done with anorexic women who see themselves in a mirror as being fat.) And so, the cat is a very much alive, hot, warm being, but his reflection is a "cool cat."
