Artist's Description

This railroad crossing is in Thurmond WV. The history of Thurmond begins in the 19th Century when railroads first penetrated the coal fields of WV. Today, no one lives in Thurmond. This little road goes up the hill to a few homes now abandoned. The train still runs through Thurmond everyday.
